Reading Time

During our morning routine these days, Miss Olivia and Mommy have some time to get our daily reading in...especially if she decides to get up at 4:00 in the morning like she did today! :-) No problem for me though (most days), we try to read each morning now that we have time! I took a few pictures of little miss independent, who decided she wanted to hold the book on her own! It is so much fun...we try to read at night before we go to bed too, but just in case, we have incorporated it to the mornings!! I hope it pays off some day and she is top of her class!!

Party Time

We had another birthday party to go to for Riley and Steve today. Another great day..one filled with a few more firsts! Olivia had pickle juice (Thanks Aunt Pam) and cupcakes today (Thanks Dad)! I did not witness the pickle juice, but can only imagine the face she made. However, I was around when she tried eating the entire cupcake. Her mouth went wide open and she leaned towards it like she knew what she was doing. It was hilarious, and of course, we got a picture of the big ol' mouth! Looks like she is going to be a fan of chocolate..just like Mommy!! Also, Olivia got to see Grandma and Aunt Jenny again, so she enjoyed that, as usual!! :-)

Beauty Salon

Well, tonight was a little unusual. We got to play beauty salon with Olivia. In reality, Shane and I just got a little lazy, and rather than giving her another bath for the day, we just washed her hair in the sink instead. Since the doctor told us she had a little bit of cradle cap, we went and got a special shampoo, and have been using that for the past few days. So, needed to do that, but skipped the whole bath scene this time! Although, she looked pretty cute laying in Dad's arms, so I had to get a few pictures! I know...I'm obsessed!! Just ask Dad...he'll tell you the same thing!

Birthday Party

We went to Uncle Randy's tonight for a get together and to celebrate birthdays. Although, it was an outdoor party, so we couldn't stay long. It was way too hot to take little Miss Olivia outside, so Mommy and her stayed inside and played while Daddy got to visit for a while. We had a great time, and stayed pretty cool in the air all night. I did get a few pictures of her just playing with her toys...as you can see, everything goes in the mouth!

Play Time

Of course we stayed home tonight for Friday Night Fights, however before it started, Daddy got some play time in for Olivia. Mommy was on the computer, and Olivia and Daddy were playing peek-a-boo. She was having a ball..and laughing up a storm. Of course, Mommy got some pictures!!

Formula 101

Well, we tried formula for the first time tonight. To my surprise, she ate an entire bottle without even blinking an eye. I was a little hesitant and planned to give her only about two ounces, but she barely came up for air! So, we gave her the entire bottle and she was satisfied. My goal is to start substituting formula for a few of her meals per day and continuing to start her on solid foods. The doctor indicated to continue with the cereal and even to start with some vegetables at some point. So, here we go!! I'm sure the pictures of that will be great!!

Doctor Appointment - 4 Months

Today was Olivia's 4 month checkup, so Mommy got to stay home from work. Her appointment was at 10:30, and of course she did great. Although, after sitting in the doctor's office for about 15 minutes before getting in...seeing the nurse...waiting...seeing the doctor...waiting...seeing the nurse again for the shots...Olivia was ready to go. She started getting a little fussy after having to wait so long, so she cried pretty hard during the shots, but I picked her up and she was fine. She weighed 12 pounds, 7 ounces and was 24 1/2 inches long. She is getting so big!!! Afterwards, she fell asleep in the car, and so we went to Aunt Shell's. Aunt Tara and Emma were there as well, so we got to visit for most of the day. Of course we tried to get a few pictures of all the babies, but it tends to be a little difficult. So, I have a few of them individually. Enjoy!!

More Barbie Pictures...

Here are a few more pictures from the Barbie Night!!

Barbie in Fairytopia

Today was a big day for Kaleigh...we took her to see Barbie at the Peoria Civic Center. She knew all week that she was going somewhere special with Mommy and Aunt Missy, but she didn't know where. It was a surprise for her...and boy was she surprised. When we got to the Civic Center, she still didn't know what it was...although they had a nice little gift store located right outside which gave it away. As you can see from the pictures, she was prety excited and could't wait for the show to get started. We made our way to our seats, and she was so anxious! Mommy went to get her something from the gift shop, and the entire time she was afraid she was going to miss something. As soon as the lights went dim, she knew it was time!!! I got a few shots of the Barbie's, and of course a few of Kaleigh too. She had a great time and didn't want it to end. Mommy and Aunt Missy even got into it a little..by the end of the show, we even had the songs in our heads!! It was great to watch Kaleigh enjoy something so much, and I cannot wait to take Olivia to see her first show! :-)

Tummy Time

Here is Miss Olivia enjoying..or not so much..some Tummy Time! She sure is getting stronger!!

Dirty Story

We visited Grandma and Grandpa today. They just loving seeing little Miss Olivia. Then, Daddy and I went to lunch...a little unprepared as it turns out. Olivia was sitting in her car seat in the booth next to Mommy, just having a great time. Well, after a while you could just see in her eyes that she was "working on something," for lack of a better term. I picked her up to go change her, and of course, just grabbed the essentials rather than the entire diaper bag (big mistake). As I layed her on the table in the bathroom, I felt something wet on my shirt...right in front, of course. She had leaked out of her diaper, and all over my shirt and her clothes. Well, as I mentioned before, I didn't have her bag, so no change of clothes. After I got her all cleaned up...which was also after I ran out of wipes...I walked her back to our table with nothing but her diaper on. Of course, I got the evil eyes from quite a few people in the restaurant. How dare I bring my baby into a restaurant without any clothes on! So, I put her in a new outfit when I got back to the table...but no one saw that of course! Who would have thought you could add an entire blog entry using a poop story! :-)

Busy Day

We had a busy day today. First, we went to Grandma and Shirley's for Grandma's 93rd birthday! She looked great, as always! The, we went to Dina's (Grandma's) to visit for a while and then she was going to babysit, while we went to a cookout at a friend's. They live close to the Air National Guard base, so we got to watch the air show, up close and personal. It was pretty entertaining. Olivia was just too small still to enjoy, but maybe next year. Then, we were exhausted, so we just came home. Didn't get too many pictures that day, although we did get a few of Olivia playing with her feet again. She just loves them, and cannot keep them out of her mouth! Imagine that! And, of course, she crashed at the end of the day!

Great Sitter...

Well, as you can see from the pictures, Daddy was supposed to be watching Olivia while Mommy got some work done. Good thing she didn't go too far...geesh! We're lucky Olivia isn't too mobile just yet! :-) Finally, she fell asleep too and then pretty soon, here comes Winston. I'm lucky to have such a great (lazy) family! :-)

Rolling over for Mommy and Daddy!

Today was another great day...Olivia finally rolled over for Mom and Dad. After the last few days, we have been trying to get her to do it for us, and she finally did! It was so much fun to see her do it. The pictures I got were right afterwards...as you can see from her expression, she was a little confused at what just happened. I got her again when she rolled back over...fun, fun, fun!! The first of many "firsts."

Talking with Daddy

Mommy was talking with Daddy on his way home from work today, and I gave the phone to Olivia so she could talk to him too! It is the sweetest thing...she can hear his voice but obviously doesn't know what the heck is going on. However, she actually grabbed the phone today...and so it begins! :-)

Big Day...Rolling Over!!

Yeah, we had a major accomplishment today! Olivia rolled over from her back to her belly today! She was at Kathy's, so we didn't get to see it in person, but have been trying all night long to get her to do it again. Kathy said she was laying on the floor just playing and went to reach for one of her toys, and flipped herself over! Kathy said she got so excited and started cheering for her, so hard apparently that she scared her a little. But then, Olivia just started laughing at her cause she was so excited!! :-) It sounded like she really had fun with it, so hopefully we will get to see it again real soon! I have been working with her all night, and I definitely have the video camera close! It will probably be hard to capture it on our digital camera, but I'll see what pictures I can get to add to her website!

Gold's Gym

Tonight was Mommy and Aunt Shell's first night at the gym. We were half tempted to put a "before" picture on the site to be able to show our progress, however that thought didn't last too long! No pictures of that, but the class was awesome, and well worth the money to go! We will see how sore we are tomorrow, but it was great and we are definitely excited to get back again!! Skinny....here we come!! :-)

Playing with my feet..

Olivia has definitely found her feet and it starting to play with them more and more. I haven't captured this on camera just yet, but as you all know, it won't be long. As soon as I do, I will have the pictures to prove it! :-) However, I did capture some pretty cute pictures of her today anyway, so I added those instead!

More Swimming Pictures

Here are a few more pictures from Saturday's day at the pool.

Lazy Day at the Pool

We had so much fun today and I just couldn't get enough pictures of Olivia in her swim suit. We went to Aunt Shell's today to play in the pool with Kaleigh. Daddy went fishing with Grandpa, so we just wanted to spend the day in the sun. Well, as most of you know with a little one, it is quite an ordeal. First, we put the little swimmers on her, which were about three sizes too big, but they worked! Then, we had to layer her with sun screen, and the try to get her into the swimsuit, which for some reason doesn't have the buttons at the bottom. So, she really enjoyed that. After we were all done, we were ready to go outside to get in the pool. I thought we would be able to sit her up in the bumbo, but the water was too deep...and way too cold! So, I held her most of the time and dipped her in occassionally. That lasted all of about ten minutes. So, then we set her in the shade while Kaleigh played for a while. After about another ten minutes, we decided it was too hot for the babies, so we went back inside! All that preparation for a twenty minute adventure in the sun!! :-) However, we did get some great pictures, so enjoy!!

Fussy Girl...

Well, today was All About Olivia Day again! Kathy said she was pretty fussy today and seems to be a direct result of trying get some teeth in. She cried quite a bit today which is obviously hard for Mommy to hear. In fact, she woke up at 4:00 this morning rather than her normal 6:00, so all day seemed to be a little off for her. Mommy is definitely a sucker when it comes to the tears and crying...she has to pick her up to comfort her and Daddy is starting to think I am a little crazy! :-) Sorry Daddy...Mom cannot help herself...especially when she cries so hard that I don't think she will ever take a breath. Has anyone else been in a position when you actually hold your breath too when the baby is crying?? Sometimes I wish I can breathe for her, but just as everything else, we'll get through the teething phase too! First teeth, then what!? She is getting soooo big...as you can see from the picture!! Luckily, most of the crying was when Mommy wasn't home! Her and Aunt Shell finally made it to Gold's Gym tonight!! We have been so excited to make a move, and finally had a chance to get to the gym and determine our game plan. We are going to start taking a few classes there, so it won't be long now! :-)

Teeth??

According to Kathy, it was Olivia Day all day long! She couldn't walk out of the room without her screaming for attention. She thinks it is a mix of our busy week last week and starting to possibly get some teeth in. She has been a little fussy lately, so am assuming we are on our way to another big step..our first tooth!! Hopefully she won't be in too much pain for long!! :-)

More Yard Work

Grandma and Aunt Jenny both came over again today to help out. They spent most of the day outside finishing up the yard work...and it looks great! Aunt Jenny watched Olivia while Mommy finished up the painting. It was a great ending to a week of hard work. We got a lot accomplished this past week, but do have a few more things to do!

First cereal..

We gave Miss Olivia cereal for the first time tonight. By the many different faces she was making, I really couldn't tell if she like it, or was confused by it. More than likely it was a little of both. She basically just licked at the spoon the whole time and didn't get the concept of opening her mouth to let the spoon it, of course. However, she ate quite a bit and seemed to enjoy the new texture and taste. I added a little white grape juice to spice it up just a bit. So, the smiles on her face in between bites seemed to indicate she liked it. And...she didn't make too much of a mess! :-) Here we go....
