Well, we did it! We actually got out this morning to start the Christmas shopping! Aunt Shell had planned on going with Uncle Tim this morning, so Mommy headed out on her own about 5:30. Target was first on the list. I knew it would be bad again this year, but you just never really know until you get there! I got to the parking lot and the entire thing was full. There were people walking through the parking lot from places across the street, so I patiently drove down the first aisle and thought, this is crazy. I will just walk as well, so was going to turn around and go across the street, when all of a sudden, someone started backing out of the first spot right in front of me. Talk about being in the right place at the right time! It was pretty nice and I almost felt guilty cause I knew there were probably stalkers eyeing me as I was getting out of my car. So, I was feeling pretty good and off to a great start. I figured as long as I didn't turn into a crazy person like the rest of the people out that day, I may just be lucky all day! So, I headed inside and it began..the crazies were out all over the place. I found a cart right away which didn't turn out to be a good thing. Trying to manuever that through the aisles was almost impossible. However, I wasn't in any hurry, so I patiently waited as people were trying to get around me, practically knocking me out of the way to get by. I just had a smile on my face the entire time, and slowly...very slowly...made it down the toy aisles to get what I wanted. I did extremely good and was pretty proud of myself. Then I stood in one of the four lines that were wrapped around the entire store, but had a cart full so it was worth it. I doubt I would have stood in line for only one or two things, but it did go pretty fast. Shell called while I was in line adnd said Tim couldn't handle it. He went to one place and the line turned out to be a little intimidating, so after trying to find what he wanted, he headed back home and told Shell to call me! So, she met me and went headed to Toys R Us. There were no carts available and we knew we would have quite a bit here, so I went against my Black Friday standards and asked two girls for their cart as they were walking to their car. I actually helped them carry their bags to the car, and was able to take the cart back. It was hilarious, but we needed it. The store itself didn't seem to busy, but it was because everyone was in line. You literally didn't really need to shop the store...the checkout line weaved in and out of almost every aisle. So, you merely had to do your shopping while already in line. We started at the end of the line with an empty cart, and by the time we made it to the checkout, it was over flowing! It was so funny and we had a great time! There were several people in line with small children and I couldn't imagine having had the kids. No way would they have been patient enough to stand in those lines. So, it was nice to be able to leave them home with Dad! We really didn't have anywhere else in particular we wanted to go, so we walked around the mall for a while, but didn't buy anything else. All in all, it was a sucessful day for both of us! We left the craziness with our insanity still in tact, so we felt pretty good!
