Day One

Well, after much anticipation, we left for our Florida trip today! The boys ended up having to work this morning (I think it was planned), and the girls had to do much of the packing. Kathy was able to watch Olivia for a few hours this morning so we could go to the airport and pick up the van. Mommy rode with Daddy (in the work van) so we didn't have to leave a car at the airport and then came home to pack it up. We ended up meeting in Morton at Dan and Christine's and left at approximately 3:00. We were off!! We had such a great first day driving, and both kids did fantastic! They ate, snacked, slept, played and did extremely well..much better than we were anticipating! We stopped on a few occasions just to get gas, eat, and stretch, but overall were on the road most of the day. We stopped for dinner at the Cracker Barrel at about 7:00, and then drove for a few more hours. We stopped at a hotel roughly at 12:30 to get some sleep before heading back out. Olivia stayed up for about an hour before wanting to fall asleep herself, and I started to get a little worried, but after that she was out. She slept the rest of the night and got up early the next morning. We decided not to rent a crib while we were in Florida, so was hopeful that it was simply because she was a little off schedule!
