Sea World!
After lunch, we went to the house for a while and waited for Mathus. He had to work this afternoon, so we didn't leave until around 3:00 or so, which was just perfect timing because of the shows we wanted to see. We realized quickly that the place was going to be packed, simply based on where we had to park. It was a little hike, but not too bad. Once we got there, we let Kaleigh decide what she wanted to see first...of course, she insisted on everything! We walked around for a while looking at all the animals we could possibly see, then it was time for the Pet Show. This was probably the best part of the whole afternoon. Literally, they had trained several household pets to put on a show...they performed tricks, races, etc. There is no way I could do it justice by trying to explain it, so I won't attempt to. But, it was awesome! Then, we saw a few more animals before the dolphin show. The kids wanted to sit in the front row in order to get wet...they called it the 'soak zone!' Not us...we sat a few rows back! This was of course pretty neat as well, and we sat there wondering how in the world we could have the trainers' jobs? How much fun would it be to swim with the dolphins every day!? So, we walked away pretty jealous, but quickly turned our attention to food. It was time to eat before we went to the final show...Shamu!! The food was good, and nice and expensive, but we didn't care! We were having a great time. The weather was perfect and we finally were on to the last show. It was evening time now, so it was getting dark which was the perfect time to see the whales. We sat with such anticipation as the place filled up very quickly, the kids sitting in the front row hoping to get wet, buying glow in the dark necklaces...however, we were actually a little disappointed. There were more bells and whistles than whales! In fact, they had a guy up on a platform playing the guitar for about 10 minutes of the show!? We didn't really see the connection, but ultimately did get to see Shamu, which turned out to be pretty cool. It was unbelievable to see something so big performing for an audience! Overall, we ended the night and were all pleased with the day!! We were totally exhausted so went home and crashed! The pictures of Sea World are listed below!!
