Day Two: Fun and Sun
The Cline family was the first ones up today, at about 6:00 am, so we decided to take a stroll on the beach. Since we got in late the first night, we weren't able to see it yet. So, this was wonderful! Olivia was not too fond of the "big water" as she called it, but she loved the sand on her feet. We took a walk along the beach, but was so scared if Mommy or Daddy got too close. Her whole body would tense up and she would instantly start crying. So, we didn't force it and will try again another day!
After our walk, we got on our suits to head to the pool. She wasn't scared of the pool at all, so went basically went swimming for most of the day. She started off by staying pretty close to the stairs leading into the pool, but seemed to get more brave throughout the day. It should only get better from here. We did try to walk to the beach again later in the day cause Daddy wanted to boogie board, but she really didn't like that. She stayed on the towel the entire time and needed her feet to be on the towel too...it was as if she felt more safe on the towel since she was considerably closer to the ocean. Daddy went out for a little while, but Olivia only lasted about 5 minutes. She kept saying, "I don't like that big water. I go back Mommy. I watch cartoons Mommy." It was pretty cute, but rather than do the cartoon thing, we just went back to the pool!
Later that evening, we all got ready and went to dinner. We ended up finding a pretty neat place right down the road called The Hangout. It was all open so you felt as if you were outside on the beach, and the weather was perfect. All the kids did wonderful at dinner (considering Olivia didn't nap all day) and were having a great time. There was a band playing near the outdoor bar area, and Olivia couldn't resist. Once we were done with dinner, she went dancing. Daddy took her first and they were dancing on the tables, and then Mommy took over and Olivia had the dance floor all to herself. She had the crowd cracking up at her running all over the place, but it was perfect for just that. She was having a great time, but we had to head back. We took a stroll back to the vehicles and was able to stop to take a look at the ocean. Of course, Olivia didn't mind it from afar!
We got home and put the kids to bed and the adults simply hung out on the patio the rest of the evening. The sun definitely wears you out and even if we had the best intentions, it was tough to stay up too late knowing we were going to do it all again the next day. So, lights out at 12:00. The pictures from Day Two are listed below (7).
