Sad to leave...

One more shot of all the kids dancing!!

Today was our last day in San Diego. We didn't really have anything planned other than we knew we wanted to go to the Marine base to do a little shopping. It wouldn't be the same without having some Marine Corps memorabilia to take home with us, and we needed to get a few shirts for Nana and Paw Paw too! So, we went to breakfast first and had a nice time just visiting more, knowing we had to leave tonight! Afterwards, we went to a few different places and stocked up on shirts and things for the kids. We went back to the house and got things packed up and ready to go, cause we had to leave for the airport at about 9:00 that night. We were taking the red eye flight out of California, which didn't turn out to be the best plan. After a lot of visiting, relaxing and saying goodbye, it was time for us to head out. Little did we know that after only a few short days, it was going to be so hard to leave. We certainly missed everyone back home, but it had been such a nice time, that we had a hard time leaving! We left Amy and the kids at home and Uncle Scott and Mathus took us to the airport. After many tears, we were off! We made it to the plane in plenty of time, and we were all exhausted. Fortunately, Kaleigh was asleep before we were off the ground, although Aunt Shell and I did not get any sleep for basically the entire four hours. Then, we made it to Chicago and had a three hour layover....yuck! It was TERRIBLE!!! We sat by our gate and tried to take turns sleeping. Again, Kaleigh was able to find a little corner of the floor and got more sleep, but unfortunately, it was not as easy for Shell and I. Three very long hours later, we were able to board the plane to Peoria! It was a nice short trip, although it was the next morning as well. We hadn't slept all night ling!! But, Nana and Paw Paw were there waiting for us, and boy we were gald to be home!!!!!
