Long Day...But Successful!
Ok, we tried to put her potty seat in the living room in front of the TV, cause if we were going to get her to sit for long periods of time, at least she could watch some cartoons. Great idea Kathy, and it worked like a charm. She actually didn't mind sitting there throughout the day!
So, this morning we woke up about 7:00 and although she had a full diaper, we tried to sit right down on the potty to go again. We sat on and off for about another hour.
8:00 - After trying for the past hour, she sat on the couch to watch cartoons, and she peed in her undies on the couch. I guess I wasn't thinking when I let her sit on the furniture, so that was the last time for that. After cleaning up the mess, we kept trying. All morning when she would ask for things, I would say, "not until we go potty for mommy." I said this even for the little things like laying on Mommy's bed, brushing her teeth, taking a bath, having a snack, etc. And that seemed to work cause around 10:00, she went for me again!!! Yeah!!!
10:30 - Even after going a half hour ago, she was playing on the computer and peed on the chair again. So, we had the discussion again that she needed to tell Mommy when she had to go and we were off again.
11:00 - We had to take Daddy's phone to him at work cause he forgot it this morning, and although it was fun to be his secretary for a while, he really needed it. So, we took a ride to Peoria and she stayed dry the entire time! So, we tried again as soon as we got home, but she didn't have to go. We sat at the table for lunch, and she peed in her seat!
12:00 - Since she had gone for Mommy this morning, I had called Kathy right away to share the news, and she took the time to bring over a surprise for her....a new lunch box with girls an outfits to dress them up with! She was so excited and this took over as the new incentive...no more Barbie! That was extremely nice for Kathy to do, and I actually think it was so special for Olivia too, caue she ended up doing great the rest of the afternoon.
12:30 - She peed on the big girl potty for Mommy again!!!
3:15 - She did it again!!!!
3:45 - We were playing outside and she was so busy having a great time, that she didn't want to take time out to go potty, but I saw her from behind on the swings, and could tell she was concentrating a little too hard. Well, she pooped in her pants this time. I knew this one was going to be the toughest, so no big deal. We cleaned it up and emphasized that we didn't want to make our undies messy again, so she needed to tell Mommy. Same conversation over and over again!
5:00 - She peed for Mommy again, and although the lunch box was a huge hit, we went to the Dollar Store to get some more little prizes. I bought several things so as she continued to go potty for Mommy, she did get a little prize...big for her though!!
6:20 - Daddy got home and she even peed for Daddy as soon as he got home!!!
7:30 - She went again. Each time is not very much, but we've been sitting on it most of the day and every little bit counts.
8:00 - Bath time. She probably went again in the bath tub, but who cares. :-) She had done great all day, so we were sure proud of her! We did put a diaper on her again before she went to bed, hoping that it would be dry in the morning.
